Muscle car collectors, get your checkbooks ready. A massive lineup of high-end muscle is heading to the Mecum auction block in Las Vegas this Saturday, November 15. Dubbed The Hansen Collection, this group features some of the most desirable winged warriors, Hemi-powered hardware, and high-end customs on the planet, all selling on the same day.
1970 Plymouth Superbird
Leading the charge is a 1970 Plymouth Superbird finished in eye-popping TorRed. This winged warrior isn’t just a garage queen; it was featured at SEMA and in multiple Mopar magazines, partly because of its modernized suspension. While it retains its 440 V8 (now upgraded with a Six Pack setup) and TorqueFlite transmission, the handling has been brought into the 21st-century with Hotchkis suspension components. It’s the perfect blend of classic looks and pro-touring capability.

1969 Dodge Daytona (Dark Green)
For the purists, the collection offers two genuine Dodge Daytonas (out of 503 produced). The first (Lot S134) is a stunning, numbers-matching 440/375-horsepower car that has seen only 119 miles since its restoration. Finished in a sinister F8 Dark Green Metallic, it’s heavily documented with its original broadcast sheet. This Daytona is packed with desirable options, including the A36 Performance Axle Package and an incredibly rare factory rear window defogger.

1969 Dodge Daytona (Bright Red)
If subtle isn’t in your vocabulary, the second Daytona (Lot S135) is the one to watch. It retains its matching-numbers 440 four-barrel and automatic transmission. It is painted Bright Red with a striking white and black interior. It’s similarly equipped with the A36 Performance Axle, power brakes, and center console. This car also comes with its broadcast sheet and a full Chrysler Registry Report, ensuring its authenticity.

1970 Dodge Challenger R/T
What Mopar collection is complete without an E-body Hemi? This 1970 Challenger R/T started life as a factory 383, four-speed car (D21 code) but has undergone a rotisserie rebuild where the engine was upgraded to the legendary 426/425-horsepower Elephant V8. Finished in the high-impact factory color combination of Go Mango with a Burnt Orange interior, this car has all the right hardware: Shaker hood, Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, and a heavy-duty Dana rearend.

1941 Willys Americar Custom Coupe
Rounding out the group is a show-stopping 1941 Willys custom coupe. This Burnt Orange street rod means business. The fiberglass body sits on a modern chassis with a Mustang II front end. Power comes from a 440-cubic-inch stroker V8 built by Big Al’s Toy Box, topped with a massive BDS supercharger and dual Quick Fuel carburetors. A built 727 transmission and a Ford 9-inch rearend handle the power.

The Hansen Collection
This Saturday, November 15, is going to be a big day for Mopar and hot rod bidders in Las Vegas. The Hansen Collection represents a fantastic cross-section of American high-performance, from factory-correct winged legends to a massively powerful custom Willys. With this much horsepower crossing the block, expect the bidding to be fierce.
