A stop at the VP Racing booth is a SEMA 2025 essential, especially as good, high-octane pump gas gets harder to find. Its VP Racing fuel additives are a staple of its lineup, and we wanted to see what was new. We spoke with Kevin Partlett, senior marketing manager for VP Racing to get the rundown on their popular Octanium line and their latest updates.

Kevin, a bracket racer himself, quickly broke down the core lineup. The formulas are proven, so they haven’t changed. There’s the Octanium Unleaded, which is safe for cars with O2 sensors and catalytic converters, providing a boost of up to seven octane numbers. For the off-road and track-only builds, the classic leaded Octanium is still the heavy-hitter, capable of bumping octane by up to eight numbers.

When we asked what was new for SEMA, Kevin was refreshingly honest. The big update isn’t a new formula, but a new solution to a problem every modern car owner hates: The capless fuel filler. He explained that VP Racing recognized how difficult it was to pour additives into modern cars with their tricky, spring-loaded fill spouts.

To solve this, VP has engineered a new, compliant funnel spout built right into the neck of the can. This new design is the star of their booth, as it’s designed to automatically open those modern capless fillers, making the process quick, clean, and simple. It’s a user-friendly design that makes a massive difference for owners of newer performance cars.

This SEMA highlight isn’t just for the Octanium line. VP Racing is rolling out this new can and funnel design to its entire line of additives, including their fuel stabilizers and diesel cetane improvers. It’s a smart, practical update that shows they’re listening to the hassles modern enthusiasts face. It’s a simple change that makes grabbing a bottle of VP Racing fuel additives an easy decision again.
