SEMA 2025: Antigravity Batteries Teases Sodium-Ion Technology

We stopped by the Antigravity Batteries booth at SEMA 2025 to get the scoop on what’s new in lithium power. While most people know them for their lightweight starter batteries, they’ve been busy expanding their lineup to solve everyday charging headaches and even teasing some future tech that could shake up the market.

Smarter Chargers for Everyone

One of the biggest highlights from Antigravity Batteries was their new line of universal chargers. Unlike older models with confusing blinking lights, these feature a clear digital display. Chad Estevez explained the improvement, noting, “The great thing about these, as you can see, is they have a nice digital display.” This removes the guesswork, showing users exactly what their voltage and amperage are in real-time. Crucially, they work with both lithium and lead-acid batteries.

The Sodium-Ion Surprise

While lithium is king, Antigravity is already looking at what’s next. Estevez dropped a major hint about their upcoming product line, revealing, “As far as new products coming down the road, we’ve also got a sodium battery coming out.” While details were light, this sodium-ion technology promises to be the next big step for the brand in 2026, potentially offering a new alternative for power storage.

Why Lithium Still Rules

For now, lithium remains the standard for performance. The advantages are massive: higher cranking amps, consistent voltage, and a huge weight reduction. Estevez highlighted this benefit, saying, “You’re going to drop an amazing amount about 75 percent of the weight versus what you have with your stock normal battery applications.” Beyond the weight, the longevity is impressive.

Antigravity Batteries: Always a Jump Ahead

The killer feature, however, remains their built-in jump-starting. The battery’s management system is smart enough to shut itself down before it goes completely dead, saving just enough juice to start the car. “The thing that sets us apart is we have what we call our wireless jump-start feature,” Estevez explained. “At that same time, it saves a dedicated amount of remaining capacity so you can actually still start the vehicle.” With a simple press of a key fob, you’re back on the road without ever popping the hood.
