The third-gen Camaro is having a massive moment right now, and if you stopped by the Roadster Shop booth at SEMA, you saw exactly why. They rolled out a killer new chassis for the 1982-1992 F-body, but the wheels bolted to it stole half the attention. Forgeline just dropped the Forgeline IR3C, and if you’ve ever lusted after a clean IROC-Z, these wheels are going to hit you right in the nostalgia. It’s a dead ringer for the classic Z28 five-spoke, but reimagined for builders who actually want to drive their cars hard.

The main issue with running original styling on a serious build has always been the hardware limitations. The factory wheels are heavy, cast, and way too small for modern rubber. Forgeline solved that by engineering a legitimate three-piece performance wheel. We aren’t talking about a cheap cast replica here. The Forgeline IR3C is built with 6061-T6 forged aluminum centers and heat-treated rim sections. That means they are incredibly strong and significantly lighter than stock, cutting down unsprung weight where it matters most. They assemble the pieces with aircraft-quality Automotive Racing Products (ARP) stainless hidden fasteners, which keep the face looking clean while ensuring the structure is bulletproof for track days.

Visually, they absolutely nailed the stance. The spokes have a deep, concave profile that the flat-faced originals never had, giving the wheel a much more aggressive, muscular look. The stepped-lip outer rim ties the whole vintage vibe together. Since they are available in 18, 19, and 20-inch diameters, you can finally run a massive six-piston brake package and sticky 200-treadwear tires without ruining the period-correct aesthetic.

They come standard with a powder-coated and High Tech Machined (HTM) center finish with a polished lip, but since it’s Forgeline, you can custom-order the finish to match your paint perfectly. It’s the ideal setup for the guy who wants that iconic ’80s muscle car style but refuses to deal with the limitations of 15- or 16-inch tires. With the Forgeline IR3C, you get the heritage look you want with the forged strength you need for a modern pro-touring machine.
