Auction Watch-1934 Ford Street Rod At Mecum Louisville 2018

Whether you like auctions or not, they’re a good finger-on-the-pulse of what hot rods and kustoms are selling for. We’re starting a new column here at Rod Authority with some of the coolest cars offered around the country from some of the biggest and most recognized auction houses.

Check out this 1934 Ford 2-door sedan, (Lot #F29) that will go on the block at Mecum on September 7th-8th in Louisville, Kentucky. We especially dig this ’34 because of the deft 3″ chop, the great color and perfect stance. The interior reveals an older build as the gray tweed/velour is tidy and well done but now long-in-tooth. We always think erring towards retro or an era appropriate theme is the best bet but who knows?  The shiny billet, ZZ Top “Eliminator” thing could be all the rage again some day.  What goes around comes around.

  • 400 CI V-8 Chevrolet small block engine with 4-barrel carburetor
  • 3-speed automatic transmission
  • Same owner for past 27 years
  • TCI frame and undercarriage is highly detailed
  • Show quality Light Blue Metallic exterior with Gray interior
  • 9 inch Ford differential
  • Stainless 4-bar front suspension
  • Power front disc and rear drum brakes
  • 3 inch chopped roof Rootlieb hood
  • Walker radiator
  • Ron Francis wiring
  • Ididit tilt steering column
  • Classic Instruments gauges
  • Vintage Air

In the meantime, check out the images and let us know what you you think. Would you drive this as is or gently update the interior and a few other things? Also, what do you think it’s worth?

Stay tuned to Rod Authority and we’ll bring you the results of this car and see if it sold and if so, how much it brought.
