Chevy Corvair Funny CarCorvairs usually don’t get the respect that other classic cars from the 1960s do since they were not considered to be musclecars. However, this one commands respect. ScottieDTV spotted this wild 1966 Corvair funny car at a car show. Though its not a top fuel racer, it is a street legal car that achieved the funny car look thanks to a custom reverse body lift.

Another customization you may have noticed on are the Ferrari Testarossa-style door intake grills. In our opinion, these make the Corvair look faster and more like a traditional musclecar.

The interior is mostly original though to make it more funny car like, a pair of bucket seats, a cage and a small cluster of switches and gauges on the center console were installed. Outback is a supercharged V6 which is fed air from the Ferrari-like grills. The engine is surrounded by polished metal giving it a cool mirror effect.

The Chevrolet Corviar was introduced in 1960 and it was designed to be a mass produced, rear engine passenger car. Unlike other cars of the era it was never intended to be a musclecar. However, this has not stopped gearheads and racers from rodding these cars over the years. Since the 1960s, Corvairs have competed in road racing and drag racing as gassers and actual top fuel funny cars.

The license plate on this one reads “Corsa V-6” and that’s exactly what this car is: a Corvair-Testarossa fusion. The Testarossa grills, custom wheels, and silver paint with black stripes add just the right amount of accent to this otherwise plain car.

The Corsa is one fine looking car.
