Welcome to the Indy Mopar Swap Meet!

Stop for a moment and picture the grocery store – a place loaded with goodies that fulfill the needs and wants of the community. Depending on the area, there may be massive warehouses full of those various sundries. Now, instead of imagining groceries, think of the more ‘niche’ market of Mopar cars, parts, and businesses. Yes, it’s a thing – and it has been for many years. Welcome to the Indy Cylinder Head Mopar Swap Meet!

PARTS

In an economy worth shopping in, there are open markets for nearly everything. At this swap meet, the notion of a free market thrives throughout. Members are able to get honest value for parts – both new and used – without the hassle of modern ordering and shipping. The options for purchase ranged vastly. Crate engines, race-purpose instrument clusters, and subframe assemblies are just a few examples of cash-ready items. Even a couple of rollers were found for sale. The average Mopar enthusiast didn’t leave this show empty-handed.

Indy’s booth was a real kicker. Their display included a plethora of performance-crushing crate engines. The motors were all for sale on a show special. The engine offerings included an all-new Callies B/RB recast iron block, an INDY MAXX aluminum block, a massive turbo-fed crate engine, a Hellcat 6.2L featuring upgrades, a turnkey 426 W9 motor, a 5.7L SMS supercharged HEMI, and a 6.1L stroker crate assembly. All of these motors were ready to see 600+ horsepower numbers. The turbo and Hellcat engines were capable of the 1000HP mark. Talk about one hell of an engine swap!

Another cool highlight comes from the AJE suspension booth. AJE held the biggest variety of suspension kits at the show. Their selection ranged from A, B, and E street and race kits. They even had spindles on sale that are meant to match up with their racing frames and still hold stock brake/hub assemblies.

CARS

Amongst the mounds of used machinery were a few classics that had seen the restoration side of the market. A total of 15 Mopar classics splayed about on the show floor. These cars fell into a few different categories. Glasstek and CRT had a couple of Promod and Super Stock cars on display; featuring fiberglass hoods, doors, and fenders.

In the Mopar Heritage corner, there were cars in a simple showcase. Many of the vehicles on display were one-off custom builds. Each was worthy of its own headline. A twin-turbo roadrunner, a supercharged early-gen Challenger, and a pristine Satellite (just to name a few) were quite the highlight.

In the opposing corner of the swap meet, were a couple of other restorations worth mentioning. A fully restored 1969 Dodge Dart Swinger was representing an advertisement promoted by Dodge in 1969. The “Dodge Fever” really gets a hold of anyone who spent time inspecting the cleanliness of this Mopar. Beside the Dart was a massive C-Body Chrysler Imperial that contained seats like a couch. It owned a body style that engraved a vision of “Deluxe”.
