If you thought the idea of a 1,000-horsepower pickup was wild, wait until you hear this: Specialty Vehicle Engineering (SVE) is building one with a six-speed manual. The 1,000-horsepower Yenko Silverado is a real, warrantied truck you can order, and it’s aimed straight at enthusiasts who still want to row their own gears.

What Pushes It to 1,000 Horsepower?

The legendary Yenko name is alive and well and has been for years thanks to SVE. For this truck, it starts with a 6.2-liter V8 aluminum block and stuffs it with a fully forged bottom end — a twisted steel crank, steel rods, and forged aluminum pistons. It adds upgraded heads, a bigger fuel system, and a high-output supercharger managed by SVE’s “Boost-By-Wire” system. It’s all backed by a three-year/36,000-mile warranty, but there’s a catch: It requires 93 octane E10 fuel. You can request a 91-octane tune before the build, but running E85 is a definite no-go.

Built to Handle, Not Just Haul

Making 1,000 horsepower is one thing; making it usable is another. SVE reworks the chassis with a two-inch front, five-inch rear drop using progressive springs and Fox performance shocks. To control the power, they add heavy-duty traction bars and a thicker rear sway bar. Stopping is handled by massive six-piston Brembo front brakes on 16.1-inch rotors (the dealer has to ship this GM part to SVE for the build). It all rides on 22×10-inch forged wheels wrapped in Nitto performance rubber. This manual Yenko Silverado is built to perform.

The Yenko Look and How to Get One

Of course, it looks the part. The package comes with YENKO side stripes, 1,000HP hood cowl badges, and the sYc logo embroidered on the headrests and floormats. Getting one isn’t simple. You must order it through an authorized GM dealer. The truck is then drop-shipped to SVE’s facility in Toms River, New Jersey, for the six- to eight-week build. SVE also notes the package is not emissions legal in California, so it’s for off-road use only in that state.

SVE has created the ultimate modern muscle truck for old-school drivers. While other tuners focus only on automatic-backed power, SVE is giving enthusiasts what they’ve been asking for: three pedals and a ridiculous amount of horsepower. The 1,000-horsepower Yenko Silverado is a rare beast that offers a level of driver engagement you just can’t find in any other modern pickup.
