1962 Pontiac Catalina Low-Flying Purple People Eater

This Pontiac is low… and we do mean low. Photos from www.chooseyouritem.com

Surfing the interwebs provides hours of non-stop fun and lowers productivity to an absolute standstill, yet occasionally you run across something that causes a double-take and makes you stop and look. We found a Canadian car for sale post that did that brought us to a screeching halt.

According to the ad, this 1962 Pontiac Catalina is a “Canadian” model and a 2-door post in Mint condition. The paint is described as “Low-Rider Lavender Metallic” while the interior is a white vinyl. It is important to note that the paint color is a custom mix by the owner. We don’t know if the owner mixed a few cans of paint that he had left over to come up with this custom blend, or if he intentionally mixed paint looking for this lively lavender color – in either case, it is striking.

The ad goes on to say, “This very unique creation represents over 3,000 man-hours of design and fabrication work, resulting in this award-winning custom low-rider.” We would call it an extreme low-rider, or perhaps a low-rider deluxe.

From every angle this custom is unique.
