Dodge has promised redesigns on two of their flagship models, the Challenger and the Charger. We know that tomorrow at the New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) that we should see them first hand, but thus far Chrysler has remained very tight-lipped on the reveal. Our friends at Allpar have shared some renderings, and a quick search around the web has brought us a few more variations of what some people hope the Charger will look like.
An overlay by one reader suggests that not much has changed for 2015, leading us to believe this might not actually be a 2015 in this photo.
After taking a closer look at some spy shots of what is believed to be the 2015 Charger redesign, it’s hard to tell if any of these renderings are even going to be close. The way manufacturers camouflage new cars when they don’t want you to see them plays pretty good tricks on our eyes.
But looking closely at the camo-covered spy shot, it appears that not many of these renderings hold true, as you can faintly see the outline of the 2014 grille surround. But, as we said, they do a pretty good job at playing tricks with our eyes, so we will all just have to wait until Thursday and see what Ma Mopar brings us.
Both of these renderings have been floating around the web, some people seem to think the new Dart front end inspired the 2015 Charger. We hope not, we need something more original.
The Charger and Challenger are both due for some major reworkings, and Chrysler really needs to kick some major ass if they want to stay in the game. The Hellcat Hemi not withstanding, it’s going to be a very interesting 2015, and we’ll bring you as much of it as we can this week after the NYIAS, with coverage from the Dodge camp. Stay tuned!
Top: Could this be the 2015 Charger? Will we see Plum Crazy and Limelight available?
Bottom: Of course, we'd ALL love to see the Charger go back to a two-door model.
