The 2015 L.A. Roadsters Show & Swap in Pomona, California was a hot, sizzling time. Coupled with the hot weather were scorchingly nice cars, ranging from lowrider and gassers to classic trucks and vintage roadsters. However, it was this first-generation Buick Riviera that caught us off guard.
Although this Riviera’s owner wasn’t anywhere in sight, we couldn’t help but snap a few pics of this gaudy custom. Notably, it’s taillights were swapped out for round ones. It may be an interesting choice but it helps contrasts to the Riviera’s mostly straight and oblong body lines.
Slammed to the ground, this Riviera’s low center of gravity definitely shows this is a true Sunday night cruiser for the boulevard. The whitewall tires are a nice complement to the entire package, preserving the old school feel this Riviera is aiming for.
We like that most of this first-generation Riviera is original, even inside. Choosing to keep the telemetry and dash vintage, we see the cars age just looking at it. Wrapping the interior trim the same shade as the exterior paint also adds a nice touch of color continuity throughout the car.
The snow white interior translates to a luxurious look for the Riviera. The seats and material looked very immaculate even to the touch in person.
With the body as straight as an arrow, no swirls in the paint, and clean inside and out, where can you go wrong with this Riviera? It was a surprise to see this beauty all by itself.
Seeing this in person, we believe this custom deserves some recognition for its clean build and tasteful aesthetics. What do you think of this Riviera? Would you have done it any different? Be sure to leave a comment below.
