The iconic blue and white stripes of the Shelby Cobra are a symbol of raw American power. Now, that same spirit is being captured on the wrist as Bulova launches a special new chronograph to mark its 150th Anniversary. The watchmaker, which has a long history with auto racing, is collaborating with Shelby to create a limited-edition timepiece that merges high-performance timekeeping with legendary muscle car style.

The new Bulova x Shelby Racing Chronograph is a direct tribute to the ’67 GT500. The watch features a bold, 43mm stainless steel bullhead case, where the chronograph pushers are located at the top, resembling a classic stopwatch. Its design is unmistakable, sporting Shelby’s signature blue and white colorway on the durable rubber strap and dial. The legendary Carroll Shelby Cobra icon is placed prominently on one of the sub-dials, solidifying the connection between the two brands.

Beneath the sapphire crystal, the watch is a technical powerhouse. This special model for the Bulova 150th Anniversary is driven by the brand’s proprietary Precisionist movement. This high-frequency 262 kHz quartz engine provides incredible accuracy and allows the eight-hand chronograph to measure time down to a blistering 1/1000th of a second. The high-frequency movement also gives the chronograph hand a smooth, sweeping motion, a feature typically seen in mechanical watches.

As a true collector’s piece, production is limited to just 7,500 units worldwide. Each watch will feature a numbered case back engraved with Carroll Shelby’s signature. The presentation box adds another layer for enthusiasts, as it includes a 1:24 scale die-cast model of the GT500. The watch, available starting September 10, serves as a fitting tribute to an era of speed and precision, making the Bulova 150th Anniversary a celebration of both watchmaking and automotive history.
