Owner John Avila of Albuquerque, New Mexico, brought his beloved Ford Slant Back to the show simply to put the beauty on full display. Complete with suicide doors and shaved door handles, Avila kept it real clean with this Ford Slant Back.
The bright, two-tone Dupont Tangerine Pearl and Illusion Purple paint helps this Ford truly stand out. The Tangerine Pearl paint that starts at the bottom helps accentuate the Ford’s curvaceous fenders while complementing the chrome grille and headlight covers at the same time.
As the paint transitions to the windows, the Ford takes on a new identity with its splash of Illusion Purple paint. Heading inside, we are treated to an immaculate tan and brown leather interior that keeps the Ford looking classy.
Popping the hood, there is a General Motors ZZ4 350 cubic-inch small-block crate engine with an 8-stack and a Fordomatic transmission, Ford’s first automatic transmission that was first introduced in 1951 Ford model year automobiles.
A 9-inch Lincoln Versailles rear end helps power the rear of this Ford, which spins a set of American Racing wheels wrapped in Yokohama radials. One other notable feature is the electric trunk opener, which actually opens sideways. What are your thoughts on this build?
