The 2015 L.A. Roadsters Show & Swap was nothing short of spectacular. Surrounded by stunning automobiles left and right, we were constantly awed in each direction we looked. However, this 1929 Ford roadster deserves credit where credit is due.
Owned by Alan Behrse of Victorville, California, his roadster is truly a masterpiece to behold. Painted with an aqua tone, this roadster really stands out with its pearl white firewall and underbody that is complete with pinstriping.
Body modifications include recessed taillights and license plate. Under the hood is a freshly rebuilt Buick 401 cubic-inch Nailhead V8 engine, an Offenhauser intake, three Stromberg 97 carburetors, and Offenhauser valve covers.
Proper flow is supplied by some Patriot headers and heat coated Magnaflow mufflers. The ST 400 three-speed automatic transmission came off of a 1964 Buick, which is also rebuilt.
The 10-bolt rearend is from a 1964 Buick. The brake setup on the Roadster is an all-drum kit from a 1939 Lincoln drum and a 1964 Buick drum.
The front grille is a shell from a 1932 Ford grille, which has been chopped four inches and also includes a custom chrome insert. Gazing upon the interior, the seats are splashed with pearl white and aqua vinyl.
The steering wheel is from a 1959 Impala and as well as the gauge cluster. With hidden stereo and charging ports, there is also a lockable storage space behind the seat.
What do you think of this roadster? Is the color too much? Would you have done it any different? Be sure to share your thoughts below.
