The National Street Rod Association (NSRA) released its latest press release announcing the dates for the 41st Street Rod Nationals North coming to the Kalamazoo County Expo Center & Fairground in Kalamazoo, Michigan. 

The annual premier automotive event will be held this year on September 10, 11, 12, 2021. Participants and visitors to the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and Fairground will be part of the largest automotive participation event in this area.

While this is the 41st NSRA Street Rod Nationals North event, 2021 marks the 34^th time the NSRA has chosen Kalamazoo as their host city for this event. Vehicles will be driven from all parts of the United States to make this a truly unique gathering of vintage automobiles featuring nearly every make, model and style. In addition to street rods, this event includes all vehicles from the ’50s, ’60s, ’70s, and through 1991, adding to the automotive excitement created by the past events.

The event is expected to draw over 2,000 vintage street rods, customs, muscle cars, and street machines. Almost all of the Kalamazoo County Expo Center and Fairground will be utilized for the event as well as many of the buildings, which will house a large number of manufacturer and dealer displays and other attractions. 

What Is Vintage?

NSRA defines a street rod as a modernized vintage vehicle that is of a pre-1949 manufacture. These vehicles are equipped with the latest options available on the newest model vehicles, including but not limited to disc brakes, air conditioning, cruise control, and tilt steering wheel. Most of those attending have updated the engine and drive train to enable the owner to cruise down the highway in comfort and safely maintain the speeds traveled by more modern vehicles. 

Included in this event are muscle cars, those factory-produced high horsepower machines from the ’60s, 70’s and 80’s along with the classics cars of the ’50s. This is a truly unique mix of old and new together for the first time at Kalamazoo County Expo Center and Fairground and a national gathering of fine vintage automobiles of every description.

The NSRA Street Rod Nationals North is an excellent event for spectators to attend and those who take time to attend will be treated to the sights and sounds of some of the most beautiful, best-constructed vintage vehicles ever assembled in one place. One of the special attractions for the spectators is that they can walk right up to the vehicles and check each one out close up as they are not roped-off or otherwise confined. All are in the open and can be examined top to bottom, front to back, inside and out. While the exquisite paint and other features of the car should not be touched, spectators are free to look to their heart’s content.

What Else?

In addition to some of the best constructed, most beautiful vintage automobiles ever to gather in one place, this event will include manufacturer displays representing leading automotive specialty and aftermarket suppliers, as well as a “Women’s World” area with arts and crafts. A vintage car parts “swap meet” adds to the experience and helps the enthusiast find these “one of a kind” parts. Designed with fun for the entire family in mind, the 41^st Street Rod Nationals North is the place to be on September 10, 11, 12, 2021.
