Featuring usual host Justin Dugan, the latest episode of American Muscle’s (AM) Hot Lap, focuses on a customer’s 2008 Shelby GT500 and a swap from the car’s stock Eaton M122 blower to a Whipple 2.9L Supercharger Upgrade Kit as well as some accompanying modifications.

The 2008 GT500 was a seriously potent car in its day, but in the intervening years, there has been a considerable amount of advancements in automotive technology that make the Shelby seem a bit long-in-the-tooth.
To bring this GT500 into the current decade, Justin adds some thoughtful supporting mods in addition to the new screw, such as a VMP Dual Fan Triple Pass Heat Exchanger, DeatschWerks 95 lb. Fuel Injectors, JLT Performance Super Big Air Cold Air Intake, as well as an updated calibration from Lund Racing, to ensure fueling and intake air temperatures are in check.
Before and after dyno runs performed on AM’s climate-controlled, in house dyno confirm horsepower and torque gains across the powerband.
