Well that didn’t take long. Just a few weeks after getting canned by the BBC for decking a producer who was unable to procure a decent meal for the host after a long day of filming, it appears Jeremy Clarkson, along with his cohorts from Top Gear – Richard Hammond and James May – (who asserted they wouldn’t do the show without Jeremy) are already hard at work bringing us a new motoring show.

On May 5th, Clarkson fired off a tweet that included the picture above of a film crew and a bright yellow, 650 horsepower C7 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that looks like it’s about to be put through its paces on a road course, replete with a fancy looking judge’s table, indicating that it’s likely that the irreverence of the BBC show hasn’t been lost in whatever form this production will take.

Three days later, Clarkson also posted this shot of Hammond behind the wheel of a vintage Aston Martin, held at gunpoint by an eyepatch’d assailant with a green screen behind them. The caption reads “Coming to Belfast soon. The Interceptors. Clarkson Hammond and May. Live.”

Formerly known as Top Gear Live, the group have been doing automotive-related live shows for some time now, and it appears that Jeremy’s relationship with the BBC won’t affect their ongoing efforts there – aside from the name.

In other news, it’s reported that the trio, along with longtime Top Gear director and personal friend Andy Wilman, who also left the BBC after Clarkson’s dismissal, attended a secret meeting at the home of ITV channel director Peter Fincham last week. ITV entertainment boss Elaine Bedell, a former colleague of Clarkson, was also said to be present at the talks.

No matter how you slice it, it doesn’t look like we’ll have to wait long to see the gang from Top Gear back in action doing what they do best.
