Auto Meter Introduces Classic AD Gauges

Auto Meter long known as an aftermarket leader in gauges and gauge technology, recently released their new Cruiser AD series of gauges. These gauges were specifically designed with nostalgia in mind and feature the same accuracy and reliability that has made the company’s products popular with racers and street enthusiasts alike.

These gauges feature a contrasting beige and black face for even more of an antique or retro look along with aluminum pointers that look like they came straight from the ’50s. The gauges have a chrome bezel, as well as an aluminum ring separating the black and beige area, further lending to their classic styling and appearance.

Further contributing to the gauge’s early model application appeal are the nostalgia fonts and markers. With the contrasting beige and black face these gauges should add a very stylish touch to the interior of any rod, classic, or custom.

The speedometer and tachometer are available in 3 3/8″ size. The speedometer registers from zero to one hundred twenty miles per hour and also features a digital odometer. The speedometer is programmable to ensure accuracy and compatibility with a variety of applications. The tachometer is compatible with four, six or eight cylinder engines and reads all the way up to eight thousand RPM.

Other gauges are available in full or short sweep designs, size 2 1/16″. These include clock, volts, oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. All gauges are setup fully electric, and short sweep with simple three wire installation as is standard on many of Autometer’s gauges.

Here's a closer look at the full sweep electric AD gauges.

At night the AD gauges illuminate with High-Def LED lighting. The pointers and numbers glow white and the backgrounds fade away or darken, making them easily read.

We definitely see these gauges in anything from a street rod to a 50s custom or a later cruiser. We’re thinking these have the perfect fit for anything from low buck rat rods looking for that something extra to throw people off, while maintaining information accuracy all the way up to high-end builds featuring real leather, suede, alcantara, and fine woods, and everything in between.
