For 23 long years, this white 1968 Ford Torino GT has been sitting in a backyard in Oklahoma City. She has been by herself, surrounded by her own personal fence waiting to be restored. Luckily, Steve bought the car when he did as she had began to sink into the Earth.
Despite spending two decades sitting in the elements, this Torino was an unmolested survivor. Under her hood was the numbers matching 390 FE engine attached to a Ford automatic transmission.
The red interior contains two buckets up front, a bench in the rear, and an automatic console shift on the floor. The interior was 100% intact, however, it was extremely dusty and dirty.
Surprisingly, despite spending the last 23 years in humid Oklahoma climate, she only seems to have minimal surface rust. After purchasing the car and pulling her out of the mud, Steve learned her wheels are borrowed from a De Tomaso Pantera.
Steve took her to the car wash which improved her appearance quite a bit, removing the decades of dirt and dust that had built up.
He plans on cleaning the Torino up and giving her a restoration. Thankfully, this Torino is a low mileage survivor which makes restoring much easier.
We hope to see this car cruising Route 66 or better yet laying down low E.T.’s on the drag strip. What would be your first plan of action if you were the lucky one to bring this car back into action? Tell us below.
