While details are scheduled to be released later this month, Chrysler’s MOPAR division has just released a sketch of the new Mopar ’11 Charger. Following on the success of the limited edition Mopar ’10 Challenger, and the recent restyling of the family ‘muscle car’ this year, the new specialty version will be presented shortly.

“After the success of our Mopar ’10 Challenger, we moved on to the iconic Dodge Charger and added even more performance,” said Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, Chrysler Group’s service, parts and customer-care brand. “As a new company, we will continue to leverage the heritage of the Mopar brand at every turn.”

Evident from the sketch are a new wheel and tire package, as well as the offset body stripes which may have become a signature of the “Mopar” treatment. Following from the previous Mopar package for the Challenger, one might expect to add a full cart of catalog goodies, such as a Cold Air Kit, dress up items and custom interior goodies.

Anything beyond that is pure and unabashed speculation, but powertrain upgrades might not be out of the question, as Chrysler’s new management and Dodge #1 honcho, Ralph Gilles, continue to drive the performance image of the company. This one is close enough to taste it, so stay tuned and we’ll get you the latest news as it happens.
