Miss your chance to buy a Ford GT? Don’t worry. Ford has announced production of the Ford GT will be extended to 2022 with an additional 350 vehicles produced. Consequently,  the application window has been re-opened for 30 days, starting November 8.

“The response to our Ford GT has been unprecedented, with demand outstripping supply more than six-to-one,” said Hermann Salenbauch, director, Ford Performance. “By extending the Ford GT production run for a limited period, we’re able to maintain the exclusivity of the ultra-desirable supercar while offering the ownership experience to a greater number of customers in addition to the 80 Ford GT owners in Europe who’ve taken delivery of their bespoke car to-date.”

The Ford GT features carbon fibre architecture and active aerodynamics. It is powered by a  twin-turbocharged, 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine,  capable of a 216 mph top speed. 

Additionally, Ford recently announced a new Ford GT Heritage Edition model that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the 1968 and 1969 Le Mans-winning Ford GT40 with a limited-edition Gulf Oil tribute racing livery, including a Heritage Blue and Heritage Orange paint scheme.

Applications can be submitted at FordGT.com, those accepted will work with the Ford GT Concierge Service for a personalized experience.

With the extended production, the Jimglo Elite GT trailer has been made available for purchase to all Ford GT owners as well.

The custom trailer features special 4-foot ramp extensions with hydraulically adjustable heights to prevent the ultra-low GT from scraping during loading, an expansive escape door and removable fenders that allow nearly half the trailer’s side to open which eliminates the need for drivers to risk damage by crawling through windows or partially open doors.
