Ever since the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month was founded in 1985, people have looked for ways to increase awareness in a meaningful way. For automotive enthusiasts, there is only one way to bring more awareness… with vehicles. We wanted to pay homage to many of these vehicles from the past and the present, as well as highlight the risk of breast cancer and promote early detection as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer.
Breast Cancer By The Numbers:
Every 3 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
Every 13 minutes a woman in the U.S. Loses her life to breast cancer.
Over 250,000 women UNDER 40 in the U.S. live with breast cancer diagnoses.
Another 11,000 more young women will be diagnosed this year.
There are about 2.6 Million female survivors of breast cancer in the U.S.
There will be another estimated 226,870 women and 2,190 men diagnosed by the end of this year.
39,510 women and 410 men will die from breast cancer this year.
What You Can Do:
Exercise. 10-19 hours per week can lower your risk up to 30%
Drink less. Limiting your alcohol intake will reduce your risk
Know the signs. Know what’s normal for you and tell your doctor about any changes
