There’s no getting away from the fact that the CTS-V is one exciting car. Packed with a 556hp LSA and all of the best hardware the General can throw at it, it’s already become a thing of legend in a relatively short amount of time.
The folks at Cadillac know this, and this why they’ve come up with a “Touring Package” for the 2012 V6 version of the CTS. Most likely because they realized there’s too much of a gap between the 304hp 3.6L model, and that of the enthusiast version, they hoped to bridge the gap with this new package.
Unfortunately, we don’t think they should have even bothered, as the $2,065 package (for the 3.0L version) adds HID headlamps, a darker grille, dual exhaust, stiffer suspension, and some interior trim pieces.
The 3.6L Touring get all of that, plus a pair of Recaro front seats and a set of 19-inch wheels and tires shod in either summer or all-season tires for an additional $745.
It’s not a lot of money for what you get, but considering that all of the V6 versions start at close to $40k for all three body styles, one would be better off considering a used V-series for around the same price. But that’s just our opinion of course.
