Carquest Auto Parts and KYB Shocks & Struts have announced Randy McCoy of Randy’s Tire in Lugoff, S.C., as the grand prize winner of a custom 1972 Chevelle SS454 in the Restore Your Ride Sweepstakes. McCoy was presented the keys to his new vehicle by NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Mark Martin at a presentation July 20 at the CARQUEST Auto Parts store in Lugoff, S.C.

The KYB Shocks & Struts Restore Your Ride Sweepstakes was exclusively for professional customers of Carquest Auto Parts. For each KYB shock or Strut purchased from a Carquest store between Feb. 1 through April 30, 2011, professional customers earned entries to win either the grand prize 1972 Chevelle or other great prizes including  three $5,000 Visa Gift Cards, 20 $500 Visa Gift Cards or 500 Restore Your Ride Wall Clocks. Personally, we can think of worse things in the world to win besides a big block ’72 Chevelle, and the entire premise behind the contest is incredibly cool. We also really like the fact that Mark Martin himself handed over the winning keys. CarQuest is one of the sponsors for Martin’s #5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet along with GoDaddy. We’re just glad they’re not making Mark become the next “GoDaddy” girl, because unlike receiving the Chevelle keys from him, watching him prance around in a tank top would be fairly gross.
