October 3rd through 6th, a group of twelve mint classic cars will cross the auction block at Mecum in Dallas, Texas. While the collection they came from features a surprising slew of cars – with everything from Dodge Vipers to Rat Rods – the ones going up for sale are all performance oriented.
If people are looking for horsepower, they should look no further. – Lonnie Reed
The collectors, Lonnie “Goose” Reed and his wife Lizzee both have a need for speed, wether it be four, two, or even three-wheeled. Amidst their bustling lives, they are both active drag racing enthusiasts, Lizzie usually sporting the featured 1966 “Dizzee Lizzee Sickies Garage Corvette,” and Reed with his Harley-Davidson Destroyer drag bike. As drag racing enthusiasts, they leave the majority of their vehicles on display for show, and only use a select few to go bash on at the strip.
Their 100-plus car collection lives at their “Sickies Garage” off Route 66 in Yukon, Oklahoma, along with their Rewaco Trike Distribution Center.
“My father was into aeronautics and racing, and an avid collector of cars himself, which led me to motorcycles and cars,” Reed explained, “and my wife, Lizzee, she’s an avid motorhead too. Growing up in L.A., cruising the avenue—she always drove the nicest custom car. She has a serious lead foot and always likes to ride in style.”
In order to bring in new stock and keep the collection fresh, a dozen of their vehicles will cross the block in Dallas next month. For more information, check out Mecum’s website HERE.
