Tired of same old cast of characters? Looking to take a walk on the wild side? Maybe it’s time for a trip down under for a “Chevy 3 Way.” According to Stance Works, The Chop Shop’s Aaron Gregory orchestrated this Aussie mash up of a ’51 Chevy Truck Cab, a 5.0 small block Chevy (Holden) and the running gear of an Izuzu Rodeo.
An interesting ménage a trois indeed, but the party doesn’t stop there. Aaron added a period perfect, custom fabricated bed and fenders, AccuAir suspension, Boyd Coddington rims and the coolest set of torpedo valve covers on record.
With help from the Chop Shop folks, the truck was built after hours and on the fly to make an appearance at a major truck show down under. Aaron burned the “midnight oil,” (no pun intended,) and got the rig in the shape you see here and was able to debut the hot rod hauler at the show. Now that the hard stuff is nailed down, it’s time to tie up loose ends work out the details. Aaron says, “Stayed tuned…”
The essence of hot rodding is combining unremarkable bits and pieces with hard work and ingenuity and creating something cool. Maybe even transforming something into “art.” Putting your stamp on the hot rod blueprint is tough stuff and it seems some of the freshest builds are from overseas fans that take US car culture and add a new spin. We approve and we’ll keep you posted with Aaron’s progress.
