Choose Haartz Cloth For Your Convertible Top Project

As car people, we can be finicky about mods or updates we add to our beloved chariots. Your humble author owns a C4 Corvette that has been meticulously refreshed over the last few years. Every addition to the car was chosen for quality and its ability to fit into the vibe of the build.

Although the top on my 1995 roadster is in perfectly acceptable condition, I don’t like the color because it looks a bit dingy and I’d like it to be as fresh as the other mods I’ve made. I’ve been lusting after a new black top and I want to fill you in on what I learned from my research.

My ‘Vette currently has a white vinyl top and although perfectly fine, I’d like to upgrade to a black Haartz cloth top.

I would go with Haartz cloth as a Corvette convertible topping replacement and I’ll tell you why. Haartz has been in business for over a century and they know convertible tops and vinyl roofs. I like the look and feel of their low gloss fabrics which add a nice textural element, topping off any project in style.

Based in Acton, Massachusetts since 1922, they’re known for being the best maker of convertible tops in the world.  They also are a global outfit with convertible top manufacturing in Mannheim Germany and Acton, MA USA.  They are suppliers to countless OEM automakers as well.

This is the look I’m after…

Forget about the cheap knockoffs and ask for Haartz by name. I’m gonna go with either Twillfast or Stayfast in a nice deep shade of black. Both are great candidates, with slightly different stitch patterns to choose from.

Remember, Haartz makes the material sewn into finished tops by third-party vendors. The great thing about this is you can choose a known supplier that you’ve dealt with before or your local convertible top upholsterer. Just make sure it’s genuine Haartz cloth.

So, if you’re looking to replace your convertible top on your Corvette, classic car, or Rolls Royce, go with the defacto leader in the industry, Haartz. Go here for more info.
