At a young age, some boys and girls, including myself, dream of owning a pristine muscle car. One of the latest additions to an upcoming Mecum auction is just that a classic American muscle car with just enough upgrades to make it a solid driver while maintaining the integrity of the muscle car spirit.
The car up for bid is a ‘68 Plymouth Road Runner coupe that has undergone a complete restoration over the last five years. It has been upgraded with a 383cui engine and 727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission.
It has power steering, an Edelbrock carburetor, a new exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and an Edelbrock intake manifold. Not everything on this car is new, however. The Road Runner still maintains most of its original sheet metal and has its original fender tag.
The car will cross the auction block in Monterey, California at the Daytime Auction. If you are interested in bidding on this fine piece of Detroit muscle, it will be auctioned off at 2:10p.m. on Thursday August 18th. Good luck goes out to anyone who plans on attending the auction in hopes of making this car their own.
