Now that the automotive world has awakened from a long slumber, hot rod enthusiasts in the mid-west are looking forward to the last weekend in May. NSRA’s event organizers will be setting up shop for the always spectacular Mid-America Street Rod Nationals at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Missouri, for the 38th time. Circle the Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (May 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th) of May’s final weekend in 2021 on the calendar.
According to the NSRA’s public relations office, “We are expecting close to 1500 pre-1991 specialty vehicles from all over the central United States and farther. These vehicles will show just how hugely popular the specialty vehicle hobby is. There will be street rods, cool customs, pick-ups, muscle cars, pro-touring, and just about any other kind of vehicle you can think of.”
Features
Throughout the event, fans will be able to view a wide range of vehicles on display and participate in several activities. The festivities begin with open houses at Hotshoe Hot Rods & Show Me Rod & Custom on Thursday. From there the weekend ramps up with NSRA’s Women’s World arts & crafts show, a quilt show, lady’s tea. There will be plenty of adult and kids games, the vintage automotive parts Swap Meet, and Nick Donovan’s Rockin’ Road Show.
The weekend will finish strong with a live seminar and a non-denominational Church Service on Sunday. There will also be NSRA’s own super prize program, a feature where over $53,000 worth of merchandise will be given away throughout the weekend.
Last but not least, there will be three drawings for $2,000 each on Sunday during the awards program. To be eligible to win any of the prizes, the winners must be registered participants of the 2021 Mid-America Street Rod Nationals. All prizes are courtesy of the National Street Rod Association.
