C10 trucks have become a versatile platform that can be built in numerous ways. These trucks have been turned into stunning show pieces, long-haul cruisers, and corner-carving autocross machines. In this video from Classic Performance Products (CPP), we get to see how you install a set of triple-adjustable Viking Berzerker Series shocks on a 1967-72 C10.
CPP wanted to get its C10 ready for some serious autocross action. The decision was made to maximize the truck’s suspension adjustability with a set of Triple Adjustable Viking Berzerker Series shocks and CPP’s new rear shock mounting brackets. A set of heavier springs were selected to go with the new front shocks to help keep the rear of the truck planted. This change would keep the rear of the truck from trying to come around during runs on the autocross course.
The new rear offset bracket from CPP has multiple shock mounting locations. This updated bracket also allows you to run different-size shocks on the rear of the truck. CPP enhanced the mounting bracket by boxing it in. The improved mounting bracket gained strength and durability thanks to this change in design.
The Triple Adjustable Viking Berzerker Series shocks are assembled like any other coilover-style shock. These shocks have adjustments for rebound, compression, and high-speed adjustment as well. A good tip is to put the adjustment knobs in a spot where you can easily access them. The shocks easily bolt into position using the new CPP brackets on the rearend and the OEM mounting position on the frame.
Up front, the new Triple Adjustable Viking Berzerker Series shocks practically fall into place. You do need to remove a few items to gain access to the shocks, but the process is very simple. Just like the rear shocks, you want to position the fronts so you have easy access to the adjustment knobs.
