Today, we found this ’67 Buick Gran Sport on Craigslist, this one equipped with the formidable 400 ci. motor. Seeing as just over 1,000 of these were ever made, this is a really incredible find, and easy on the eyes to boot.
These cars were slightly more when they first came out, compared to Chevelles and the Le Mans. But for about a hundred bucks less, the GTO could have made it into your garage in place of the GS400.
The owner claims it has been stored in the garage since 1998, and has accrued 90,000 miles since it first left the showroom back in ’67. Fortunately, a garage was it’s home instead of a grassy field where we often see uncared for musclecars spend their final years.
This GS400 has a few luxury car features, too. It has power steering, air conditioning, power brakes, and, of course, the intimidating 400 motor with a turbo 400 transmission. A fearsome 325hp will put you back in your seat and remind you why this car is bad to the bone.
The car’s wearing period-correct rally wheels like those offered back in the day, and some new Hoosier tires. The paint is new, according to the owner, as is the vinyl top, which he emphasizes has added value.
For those doubting Thomases out there, he claims to have the original build, option sheets, and Protect-O-Plate under the hood. Not to mention, he also has receipts dating back to 1968.
At $18,000, he isn’t asking for much, considering the mileage this car has been through. He’s not interested in trades, however, so this car is just a no-frills sale.
We wouldn’t be surprised to find there’s a few things wrong with the vehicle, since he isn’t bothering to mention the state of the engine or transmission. But still, a terrific car for the price, and worth calling about.
