While most of the Country is busy prepping their musclecars for the winter, Floridians are still driving to shows. Turning up recently for sale in Tampa is this 1967 Chevy Chevelle 2DR. For only $8995 this musclecar can be yours and the best part: it runs well, according to the owner.
Originally, this Chevelle was a 327 car with a Powerglide transmission. The owner upped the ante on this one and they have been swapped for a mild 400 tied to a TH350. The car appears to be in superb shape as it has minimal rust with it’s original floor, trunk pan and rear fenders. However, the left rear quarter panel has a small whole behind the wheel that needs to be patched.
Inside, the Chevelle retains it’s 1967 original black leather interior. The front bench does have a tear in it which need to be replaced but the rear bench looks still appears to be solid. Despite being 48 years old the dash is in excellent shape, there is not a single crack and all of the gauges still read.
The exterior of the car has been sprayed with a coat of grey primer. There is minimal rust around the front and rear windshields and pieces of the metal trim are missing. The car is sitting on mint condition 15 inch rally wheels complete with caps and rings. The tires however are dry rotted and will need to be replaced.
Hugger Orange? Perhaps Daytona Yellow?
This project is a great way to own a Chevelle at an affordable price. As 68-72 Chevelles become rarer, hot rodders will start to look for 65-67 Chevelles, so we recommend buying these while they are still cheap. Under $9000 is not a bad deal, all she needs is a new front bench, new tires, a paint job and she’ll be a real head turner. A little TLC never hurt any classic, so what color would you paint this car?
