Ken Block (of gymkhana fame) was making a hard charge for the championship in the Rally America series late last year.
That is until the tour went to race the Lake Superior Performance Rally last October. Block was seven seconds back of the leader and charging hard to make up the time when he hit a small pile of dirt on the outside of a curve and went into a vicious rollover. Until now all that we have seen is photos of the aftermath. There was a GoPro camera in the car but Block kept the video to himself.
And now we know why. Block has just released the in car video of the crash along with a pretty interesting retelling of the events. It’s a pretty good watch–especially if you think Block is just a stunt driver. It is easy to see the racer in him when he talks about trying to drive the car even after the wheels had literally fallen off.
