It’s no secret that Dodge has teamed up with Mötley Crüe to sponsor their final tour, the “Kickstart My Mopar” campaign has been on since earlier this year. Now the time has come to put this beast in gear and put Dodge and the Crüe together for a bash that includes a car show and a concert. Their final tour has been selling out at some of the biggest venues the world over, and people are lining up for a chance to be a part of their last gigs.
Recently, Richard Rawlings of Gas Monkey Garage and Fast N’ Loud fame had an idea, and pitched it to Dodge and Mötley Crüe, but as Vince Neil says in the video below, “Recently, Richard Rawlings asked us to do something that we thought we’d never do.” Rawlings’ idea was for the Crüe to play at the Gas Monkey Live, a newly opened bar & grill in Dallas, Texas. Neil said, “We don’t play bars, man,” but the idea was just too good to pass up. “But for Richard, we’re going to do it because Richard Rawlings is cool,” Neil added.
It might seem like an unlikely combination – a Dodge car show and Mötley Crüe playing live at The Gas Monkey Bar & Grill. But if that’s not different enough for you, there’s another thing about this combination that is typically unheard of: it’s all free. Dodge and Neil encourage you to bring out your Dodge vehicle and show it off this coming November 1st, with the gates opening at 3:00 pm. You don’t have to pay for the car show, as there isn’t an entry fee, and the concert won’t hit you up for some serious cash to attend, either.
A free car show AND a free concert? Kickstart My Mopar, Mötley Crüe!
For those who have figured out that it’s likely going to be a madhouse, here’s another thing that’s different about this free show: you can pre-register your Dodge for the car show for $100, and get up to two passes. But wait, before you think that the free concert is just a gimmick, when you drive your Dodge into the show, they’ll give you the $100 back! How’s that for different? We’re sure that the pre-registration is to make sure that those who sign up early are going to actually show up. Makes sense, right?
But remember: The car show is for Dodge vehicles only, classic or new, so if you’ve got a Chrysler 300 or an orphaned Plymouth, you’re going to have to sit out the car show part of the event. If you’re interested in adding some ink to commemorate the event, Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company will be there to give you the real stuff, or just an air brushing so you can wake up the next day and wash it off. Find out more about the car show and concert at the Dodge Rocks website, and don’t forget that pre-registration requires that you submit a photo of your car. At the car show, you’ll see some of the best that Dodge has to offer – including a Viper drift car thrill ride or you can grab the passenger seat of the Challenger Hellcat and take a ride in the most powerful musclecar, too.
