Hot Rod today dropped the long-awaited schedule for its 2024 edition of Drag Week, the sport’s original drag-and-drive competition and oft-regarded as its toughest given the level of competition year in and year out.

This year’s tour will open at one of the sport’s longtime jewels, Ohio’s National Trail Raceway, which will serve as the official host venue of the pre-event testing, and both days one (Sept. 16) and five (Sept. 20) of the week-long competition. After racers turn in their official time-slips at National Trail, they will venture west to the fabled Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park in Clermont, Indiana, before turning back north to US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan.

The tour will remain in the Great Lakes State on Thursday, visiting the Milan Dragway in Milan, Michigan, a short drive from the heart of American automobile manufacturing and the very place many of the cars competing in the event were originally built, the city of Detroit. For those fortunate to have made it that far without succumbing to the mechanical minefield of the competition, the drive back to Hebron, Ohio will be a welcome trip that puts them on the precipice of the most rewarding things of all: simply finishing.

In all, the trip will cover more than 800 miles. Both National Trail and US 131 were part of the original Drag Week — the event that began an entire movement — that was contested back in 2005. Registration for this year’s Drag Week opens Saturday, Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. ET.
