We’re sure it will come as no surprise to you, but we are complete suckers for 1968-1970 Chargers. We found this 47,000 mile 1970 Charger up on eBay and thought it was too nice to pass up. The owner purchased it 15 years ago and has only put 2300 miles on it since then. He states that it originally lived in Ohio and was a drag car.
The original owner sold it to his dad in the 1980’s and the original motor was replaced with a 400. He apparently also had the car painted, the vinyl top replaced, the carpet replaced, and had the quarter panels replaced as well. The Charger was then sold to a Pennsylvania owner which is where it’s current owner found it.
The eBay post states that he has rebuilt the 727 automatic and put up a “year correct” 383. He also put in a Sure Grip rear end with 3.55 cogs and went through the front suspension and brakes.
The interior is complete and is in excellent condition, a testament to the Charger’s low mileage. He did paint the trunk floor with POR 15 to fight some rust, so while we’re unsure from the eBay pictures just how far the rust has gone, it does not appear to be substantial. The owner does have a copy of the window sticker as well.
Chargers like these seem to be getting harder and harder to find. We think this one would be a great one to jump on!
