Cadillacs are known for its lush interior and land cruiser stance. From the beginning, Cadillac was a status symbol showing that you had money. As time went on the trend has changed. You will see old and new Cadillacs being used in all kinds of customs, from custom lowriders to high horsepower race cars like the new CTS-V.
We came across a one of a kind ‘Caddy over on eBay that was built to capture your attention. It’s a ’65 Cadillac DeVille that is completely slammed to the ground. To look at this Caddy it may appear like just another custom slammed lowrider, but with one peek under the hood will sure change your mind.
This DeVille was previously equipped with a huge 429 cubic inch V8 but was quickly replaced with a 12-valve Cummins Diesel engine that was pulled out of a 1995 Dodge Ram pickup truck. Now, if that doesn’t impress you, one start of this car will sure change your mind with hearing diesel exhaust coming from an old school DeVille.
Since the car sits so low to the ground and with the diesel engine being so tall, the hood had to be notched out as well as a custom side fender exit exhaust system for clearance reasons. The owner states the flat black and candy red paint on the roof are not perfect, but it won’t matter because all you will be seeing is black smoke from the diesel engine.
The car has a lot of other feature that are listed on the auction that include a large 71mm turbocharger. The Cadillac was picked to be 1 of 10 favorite cars at SEMA in 2009. Although this auction has ended on eBay it had a list price of $19,000 and didn’t sell. Who knows? It still could be yours!
