When it comes to dealer-modified Supercars, Yenko, Royal, Baldwin-Motion, and even Randall may come to mind. But did you ever notice you never hear about any Ford dealerships in the mix?

Enter: Carl Beasley Ford in York, PA. One of their Fairlane 500-S Stage II models recently appeared on eBay. In their bid to give the performance enthusiast a packaged supercar, Beasley Ford created the Fairlane 500-S, a dealer-prepped Fairlane 500 that came in two states of tune.

For the Stage I, it included a 429 Cobra Jet motor with Drag Pack (thereby making it a Super Cobra Jet), four-speed transmission with Hurst shifter, 4.30 rear, and custom blue paint highlights. Aside of the highlights, it was regular Ford fare that could be ordered from any dealership.

Here's the Fairlane 500-S offered by Carl Beasley Ford. Note paint on top of the fenders, C-pillar, and rockers.

This car on eBay is a Stage II vehicle. The article in the newsletter didn’t specify what Stage II consisted of, but the dealer invoice shows 4.71 gears, custom valve body for the automatic transmission, Cragars, headers, cool can, and blueprinted heads, among other things.

Grand total? A cool $5874, which was encroaching in Cadillac territory! But that’s what it took to achieve a claimed 11.90 ET.

Additionally, take a gander at the Marti Report – notice that only eight Fairlane 500s were equipped with the 429 CJ Ram Air and automatic. Additionally, only five CJs were ordered with the Detroit Locker, which means 4.30 gears. Most people wanting to go fast chose the Torino GT or Torino Cobra, but smart racers chose the cheaper and lighter Fairlane 500.

No one knows how many Beasley Fairlane 500-S cars were built, but it can be assumed that less than eight were automatics. As it sits, needing restoration, this mighty Fairlane went for $15,000. When finished, a unique piece of Ford history will be ready to show its rear to more famous creations at a fraction of the cost.
