Up on eBay is this very rare ’71 Plymouth ‘Cuda. Its a one owner car with lots of documentation. This car was born in FC7 In-Violet, also known as Dodge’s “Plum Crazy Purple” hue and black interior. In fact, traces of the E-Body’s original paint are seen in the engine compartment (see below), the door jambs, trunk and grille.
It still retains all its original parts including engine, transmission, and rear end, with all the serial numbers match. This Mopar has its original B-Block 383 plant, but is topped with one really interesting and desirable option most commonly found only on the 440 Six-Barrel, and HEMI cars: the N96-Code Shaker hood option.
This ‘Cuda has never been damaged in an accident, and shows no signs of rust even though it was primed by the owner many years ago, for unknown reasons.
Prior to the eBay listing, the car had been in storage since 1994, which probably helped to preserve its originality. Chances of finding original cars in preserved condition are becoming more and more slim, and this ‘Cuda is as pretty close as they get, despite the Rust-Oleum red primer paint job.
Although this ’71 ‘Cuda could use a light cosmetic restoration, it might be a good investment for someone looking to own a rare E-Body Mopar that you won’t have to spend any time chasing hard to find parts.
