Wow. This was certainly one of the cooler cars on eBay in the past few weeks, and it didn’t even generate a single bid before the auction closed out. OK, so maybe ’60 Ford Falcons aren’t the highest on your acquisition list, but dig past the listing’s title and you’ll find that this one is a tubbed, Pro Street car with a 4-link rear suspension and, according to the seller, a professionally-built 302 V8.
Check out the rear view to see the size of the Mickey Thompson rubber installed. That’s awesome, along with the Weld Racing wheels they’re riding on. The exterior looks to be in pretty good shape, finished in matte and satin black paint – not primer.
In the trunk, you’ll find the battery and a fuel cell. Someone certainly had competitive intentions when they set this Falcon up. Certainly, the car’s Wilwood front brakes and Harwood hood scoop attest to that as well.
As the seller does mention a reasonably low reserve bid, this could have been a reasonable project car, whether your intentions may have been to build it into a full race car or to cultivate its street manners. As it sits, its not entirely clear where the original build was going, or if it changed in mid-stream for some reason.
Simply put, this is not the kind of car you see every weekend at Cars & Coffee, so if something unique was on your buy list, this probably would have fit the bill.
