Ah, the internet. The place we turn to get car info and to drool over the cars we hope to have one day but probably never will. The ’69 Olds Cutlass that you see here is another beauty that we found over on eBay and it’s most definitely a rare one.
For starters is not a 4-4-2, but a Cutlass S post coupe with the W-31 ram-air package. That in itself makes it one of only 106 cars ever produced, but throw in the fact that it’s a factory Muncie M20 4-speed car and is wearing a a two-tone paint combination and that’s got to make it rarer still. This is a full numbers matching car as well, and according the the listing and accompanying video everything inside and outside of the car is in good condition and works correctly.
We’re not sure what it is about this rig that appeals to us so much, but it has kind of a “southern sheriff” vibe to it. The dog dish hubcaps combined with the super low stance, the somewhat hidden ram air scoops under the turn signals, and the growl out of the tailpipes signal to us that this is a hot tamale in a plain brown wrapper. It wouldn’t surprise us at all if this car was used as a sleeper back in the day to take down unsuspecting Camaro’s, Mustangs, and even the occasional 442!
