Once popular on race tracks nation wide, straight axel race cars are hard to come by these days. While they can be found, the ones that survived the test of time wear the scars of their competitive racing days. Recently, Bang Shift came across such a vehicle on eBay- a ‘64 straight axle Plymouth Valiant. Exciting news for straight axle race fans.

The Valiant was listed on eBay as an ex-race car, telling of the paint job and letter the car still sports. Once sporting a 383cui engine matted to a 727 transmission, the Valiant no longer has either. While it still has its straight axle from a Ford van, the rest of the car’s guts no longer exist and must be provided by the buyer of the car.

Although it doesn’t have the powerhouse that pushed it down the track, the Valiant still wears the scars of its glory days. Random drill holes, patched floors, rust spots and Bondo are all tell-tale signs of this Valiant’s racing history.

While the eBay auction has ended, you can contact the seller for your chance to own this straight axle ex-racer. Who knows, you may just be able to turn this straight axle Valiant back into a notable race car- creating the ultimate track dominator.
