eBay Find: This New Jersey Barracuda Packs Plenty Of HEMI Fury

One pro-streeted, Mopar A-body classic out of Jackson, New Jersey brings HEMI muscle to a whole new extreme, while maintaining a show quality finish that even the most decked-out of show cars can’t keep up with. That’s because our featured eBay find, a ’69 Barracuda stuffed with a 604-cube, XFI-injected motor is dressed to kill, with a trick paint scheme that extends itself throughout, even into the car’s door jambs.

Plenty of man-hours have been put into the Plymouth show beast, as the A-body’s current owner claims to have over $200k worth of receipts documented on the fish, not including those for the car’s initial purchase for $25k. One of the Barracuda’s most distinguished custom features is its hand-modded trunk lid, as the Mopar originally included a lid that turned about 90 degrees at the back of the car for about 9-10″ toward the bumper.

The 600-plus cube HEMI powering our featured fish is an 800-horse mill that also produces a respectable 700 feet-pounds of torque, no doubt thanks to a list of performance tweaks that include Stage V aluminum heads, Crower titanium connecting rods and a 704/622 lift, 248/252 duration race cam.

The New Jersey Barracuda’s stout mill is also fitted with an aluminum water pump, intake valley, brackets and motor mounts, and all are powder-coated with what the owner describes as a “black wrinkle” finish that is said to be longer-lasting than most conventional paints.

Chrysler A-bodies like this sharp example of a 2nd-Gen Barracuda make for great finds when they’re built to this caliber of detail, and we’re willing to bet that its new owner will be sporting a bitchin’, Mopar pro-street that will brings years of stoplight action to come!
