If you live in Colorado and are a fan of unique artwork, then the month of October is looking up for you!
The Loveland Art Studio Tour, which runs October 11-12 and 18-19, will feature more than 90 artists who open their studios and art processes to the public over two exciting weekends. Artists Shane Dowdy and Joe Norman will be amongst the 90 artists being showcased–they produce some awesome artwork that you won’t want to miss!

Years ago, Dowdy raced motocross–with all of the fractures and broken bones he’s accumulated over the years, he decided to park the bike for good and take on painting. His old school style of airbrushing and pinstriping, fueled by kustom kulture, are heavily influenced by Ed “Big Daddy” Roth and Von Dutch. Dowdy will paint anything from welding masks to custom motorcycle gas tanks, so you can say he’s pretty versatile.
Norman, on the other hand, is a sculptor–he designs custom railings, furniture, and bike racks for his clients. “There’s a lot of hot rod and custom car builder guys that I learned my stuff from,” Norman stated. Even though he builds furniture, bike racks, and fences, Norman’s influences are all around him, but he was really intrigued by motorcycles and auto repair.

Starting this weekend, Dowdy and Norman will open up their personal art studios to give the public and other artists a chance to check out their recent artwork, as well as share techniques, ideas, and processes. It should be a pretty cool couple of weekends and we wish we could be there to cover it!
