Rod Authority was recently at this year’s Goodguys 17th PPG Nationals. This is arguably the biggest event of the year within the Goodguys circuit. Not only do some of the best hot rods, street rods, and customs in the country show out, the PPG Nationals is also when the Street Rod of the Year and Street Machine of the Year are announced.
For this year’s coverage we are excited to bring closeups and recaps from several events that took place over the Goodguys weekend including, shots of the Ridler burning rubber on the AutoCross, Friday Nite Drags time trials, spotlights on Street Rod of the Year contenders, the unveiling of the Goodguys giveaway truck, and of course an exclusive gallery from the show.
You can expect two car features from the show as well. Both are great examples of stout representations of the hot rod and the custom. One was a Street Rod of the Year contender and the other was recently featured on the cover of the Goodguys Gazette. We won’t give too many details on either, all we can say is stay tuned–you won’t be disappointed.
We will also be bringing you a very special car feature, or truck feature in this case–a closeup view of the Goodguys 1970 C10 giveaway truck, aka the G10. We got a chance to interview some key individuals from Scott’s Hot Rods, the folks who were responsible for creating this gorgeous piece of rolling art.
All in all, there was so much to see and do at this year’s PPG Nationals, and in typical Goodguys fashion, they never fail to provide good times–despite the flash storm that hit the fairgrounds Sunday afternoon!
