Okay, admit it, many of you have more than likely used a couple of yards of duct tape to hold a hose together long enough to get home or to the shop. There’s really nothing wrong with a quick fix of that nature when you have something go afoul on the road. But let’s be real, once you got home, we will bet that you repaired it responsibly, right?
But how many times have you been rolling down the road or parked next to somebody’s car and seen fix fail that just makes you scratch your head and wonder–WTF (Wrecked Toronado Friday)? We have seen fixes that just fry our brains attempting to comprehend the impossible sense of ill-logic that could cause someone to perform such as bad bandage job.
Some seem to be a joke carried too far. Others are surely the attempt to repair something by someone that either doesn’t care about the car (or cars in general) or has just plain lost all remnants of common sense. In the photo essay here, you’ll see nearly 20 of these crazy attempts to perform a fix that is clearly not going to work well, but somebody went through with the idea anyway.
These ridiculous repairs range from something as comical as using plastic outdoor patio chairs for the front bucket seats in a car, to a four-wheeled cart for a spare tire, to zip ties and what appears to be a belt and a screw driver used to secure a busted suspension member.
We laughed so hard it hurt while paging through these images of people’s preposterous attempts to set things right, only to make it all very wrong. If you have a photo of just such a botched job, please send it to us, include what facts you can determine, and we’ll create a Street Legal TV Failed Fixes in the near future.
