What do you get when you cross a viper and a falcon? Perhaps the result is a venomous raptor, but whatever it is, it will certainly be unique. Such is indisputably the case for this ’04 Dodge Viper convertible, recently offered for sale in Lake Park, FL. The custom paint job is inspired by some one’s up close and personal experience with F16 Fighting Falcon jets and this SRT10 Viper pays homage to that mighty machine.
Already well equipped from the factory, the owner added more than a little kick via a Paxton Novi 2000 supercharger with dual pass air to water intercooler under the hood.
The uncluttered installation looks factory fresh while punching the output into the 700hp zone with 630-plus-ft-lbs of torque coming along for the ride.
To ensure the Viper can handle the extra power, the V-10 engine was rebuilt with top line parts, including Diamond racing pistons, HO forged connecting rods, ARP hardware, along with a fresh damper, timing chain and ol pump. A good deal of attention as also paid to the custom, side exit stainless steel exhaust that is fitted with hi-flow catalytic converters.
Inside, the car is now fitted with an SCCA approved roll bar and competition harnesses, while chassis work included a revised suspension and upgraded brake hardware. There’s little doubt that a total performance approach was taken to upgrading this Viper, in order to match the promises made by the paint job.
