Five Tips For SEMA Show Attendees

40-Ford-100The SEMA Show is the automotive aftermarket’s undisputed annual summit. It is the product of collective effort from the industry’s key sectors; from manufacturers and builders, to media and designers. Below are five tips that will help maximize the experience whether you’re walking the convention center for business or pleasure.

#1 Wear Comfortable Walking Shoes

This is the first tip for a reason. The quality of your SEMA Show attendance ironically has a lot to do with the shoes you decide to wear. The Las Vegas Convention Center is a huge establishment and the SEMA Show covers two buildings, multiple levels, and several outdoor areas–the SEMA Show will test your endurance more than anything and the last thing anyone wants is for discomfort to be the heel in their experience.IMG_1588#2 Create A Personal Itinerary

Because of the overwhelming number of exhibits it’s recommended that you grab a map and show guide provided at the main entrances to the convention. It’s worth taking a half hour of your time getting familiar with the layout and dividing your list of exhibits and events that you want to visit. Attending multiple days will obviously maximize your experience as you won’t be overwhelmed or overworked trying to take everything in during a single day.IMG_1489#3 Camera, Notes, Contact Information

Whether you’re media or not it doesn’t hurt to bring the tools of journalism along on your trip–there’s much to see from new products, debut builds, and interesting individuals. You managed to make it into SEMA Show, and this is a great place for inspiration–use a camera and note taking to your personal advantage.IMG_1869#4 Log Ideas From Builds And Product Booths

This is another great reason to bring a camera and note taking material. If you currently have a project build or are planning on building one the SEMA Show is an all-inclusive hub of inspiration. You can practically build the template for your next project by using that trusty itinerary mentioned in tip number two.LCdriverssideprofile#5 Bring A Backpack–Collect Press Releases And Media Kits

Some manufacturers have beautiful catalogs and if you’re a collector of all things automotive, especially literature, there’s no shortage of that at the SEMA Show. Furthermore, by collecting media kits and press releases you’ll have the most up-to-date information on products when building that template for your next project! Cram the material into your backpack and sort through it when you get home and you’ll have yourself a great pool of resources to plan ahead.IMG_0616
