In honor of our announcement of our new Street Legal TV project car, a ’69 Dodge Charger R/T, we wanted to share this news item about our friends over at Year One. Famous for doing two things: providing restoration parts for every muscle car under the sun, and building unbelievable promotional cars, we saw the photo album they put up on their Facebook page for their latest project called the “Big Time” ’69 Charger, and it’s too good not to share.
Unfortunately there are no explicit details on the build, but from the picture lineup it appears that the Charger has a few subtle body mods that include tucked bumpers, a smoothed front valence, and filled side marker lights.
The torsion bar front suspension is long gone and has what appears to be a setup from XV Motorsports with an adjustable sway bar and coil overs. The rear leaf springs are gone as well and have been replaced with a coil over setup with a panhard bar. This thing should be able to corner like it’s on rails.
Of course, what really sets this Charger off is the color and what’s under the hood! The powerplant will be the new 426 HEMI from Mother Mopar, coil packs and all. Not enough for you? Don’t worry; it’s supercharged.
The paint scheme Year One has chosen is a metallic bronze color, but no word on whether it’s a factory color or not. With the bumblebee stripe on the back and the black vinyl roof it certainly looks like it could be a factory color. The tucked bumpers will be color matched to the body as well.
Enjoy the pictures below, but please, try not to to drool on your computer…
