Are diamonds a girl’s best friend? With Valentine’s Day upon us, the pressure is on to find that perfect gift for the significant other in your life. Sure, car girls are a different breed where some may prefer cars and car parts over diamonds and gourmet chocolates. But, what if the gift incorporated the best of both worlds? You know, a diamond-encrusted car.
Yahoo shows us this brand new diamond-coated Ford Escape worth a healthy $1.5 million. Jennings Ford in northeast England took the time to bedazzle a $30,000 SUV and covered it head to toe with diamonds and crystals in a special customization package to the Kuga, the name for this SUV in England.
It’s not just the “Kuga” that can get this diamond treatment, but any Ford family vehicle can receive this royal treatment for a royal price. Jennings lays a special coating and applies by hand over 1 million diamonds and Svarvoski crystals. Finance options for all of the sparkles are available for $152,000 up front and then $33,494 monthly payments for the next five years.
Online, the Jenning pitch goes as follows, “Who says Fords aren’t glamorous? Bringing more glitz to the Northeast has always been an ambition of mine, and with this ultra-glamorous optional extra, now I can.”
Yes, diamonds are most girls’ best friends, but wouldn’t one be a little nervous parking this sparkly and incredibly expensive Ford anywhere in public? This might get you out of the doghouse, but create all kinds of financial problems, so maybe a dozen roses, some chocolates, and a nice pair of driving gloves for your significant other would be a little bit more affordable. What are you getting for your sweetheart this weekend?
